عمومی طور پر، "آخری زمانے" کا انسان ایک کند مخلوق ہے، اور اِس کی بہترین دلیل یہ ہے کہ جس واحد "حرکیت" کا وہ اب بھی اہل ہے، وہ نیچے کی طرف مائل ہے، اور جو کائناتی کششِ ثقل سے فائدہ اٹھاتی ہوئی محض ایک سُست بے عملی سے زیادہ کچھ نہیں؛ یہ اُس آدمی کی ہلچل ہے جو خود کو سیلاب میں بہنے دیتا ہے اور خیال کرتا ہے کہ وہ خود اپنی ہلچل سے یہ سیلاب پیدا کر رہا ہے۔
على وجهِ العموم، إنسانُ "آخرِ الزمان" مخلوقٌ كليلٌ، وأبلغُ دليلٍ على ذلك أنّ "الحركيّةَ" الوحيدةَ التي لا يزال قادراً عليها هي تلك التي تنحدر إلى الأسفل، وما هي إلا انفعاليّةٌ تنتفع بالجاذبيّة الكونيّة؛ إنّها هياجُ رجلٍ يستسلم لتيّارٍ يجرفه، ثم يتوهّم أنّه هو الذي يصنع هذا التيّار بهياجه.
D'une manière générale, l'homme des « derniers jours » est une créature émoussée, et la meilleure preuve en est que le seul « dynamisme » dont il soit encore capable est celui qui tend vers le bas et qui n'est qu'une passivité tirant parti de la gravitation cosmique ; c'est l'agitation d'un homme qui se laisse emporter par un torrent et qui s'imagine créer lui-même ce torrent par son agitation.
Genel olarak "son zaman" insanı, körelmiş bir mahlûktur; bunun en iyi delili ise hâlâ muktedir olduğu yegâne "dinamizm"in, aşağı doğru yönelen ve evrensel çekimden faydalanan bir edilgenlikten başka bir şey olmayışıdır; bu, kendisini bir sele kaptıran ve kendi çırpınışıyla bu seli yarattığını sanan bir adamın çırpınışıdır.
به طور کلّی، انسانِ «آخرالزّمان» موجودی کندذهن است، و بهترین دلیلِ آن این است که یگانه «پویایی»ای که هنوز بدان توانا است، آن است که رو به پایین میرود و چیزی جز انفعالی نیست که از جاذبهٔ کیهانی بهره میبرد؛ این آشوبِ مردی است که خود را به سیلابی میسپارد و گمان میبرد که خود با آشفتگیاش این سیلاب را پدید میآورد.
Secara umum, manusia "akhir zaman" adalah makhluk yang tumpul, dan bukti terbaiknya adalah bahwa satu-satunya "dinamisme" yang masih ia sanggupi ialah yang condong ke bawah, yang tak lebih dari kepasifan yang memanfaatkan gravitasi kosmis; itulah kegelisahan seorang yang membiarkan dirinya terbawa arus banjir, lalu membayangkan bahwa ia sendiri yang menciptakan banjir itu lewat kegelisahannya.
